John is interested in research into new technologies that will help address environmental and energy challenges and the business and technical challenges faced in bringing these technologies to market.

Professional Activities

Prior to enrolling at Stanford, John was an Associate at Alloy Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Palo Alto, California. There, John sat on the firm's Cleantech committee, met with Cleantech entrepreneurs in a variety of market segments, and helped the firm select investments.

Before joining Alloy, John worked as an Associate at the Boston Consulting Group's San Francisco office advising clients in a variety of industries on strategic, organizational and operational issues.
