John is a joint MS/MBA student studying environmental sustainability issues in supply chain and technology to help businesses understand and implement sustainable environmental practices into the core of their strategy, mission and values
Within the IPER program, John is developing an understanding of the environmental consequences of the entire supply chain in order to be able to perform effective analysis, present viable options and mount solid economic arguments for operational decisions, then lead companies in their implementation. He hopes to develop a deeper understanding of the legal and policy implications of decisions in order to gauge the viability and understand the effects of those decisions on business operations.
Prior to arriving at Stanford, John was an officer in the U.S. Navy where he was a pilot, instructor and aviation maintenance manager. In 2007, John worked at Apple in the iPod/iPhone Operations division with the silicon strategic global supply management team. He also interned with a development organization in Kenya creating business training material for micro-entrepreneurs.
John graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy as a physics major and is happy to be back on land after his stint in the Navy, anxious to learn the details of business and build a strong foundation in environmental science.
