An urgent dispatch to the Stanford football team from School of Earth Sciences researchers en route to Antarctica aboard the NSF research vessel N.B. Palmer.

Stanford Earth Sciences researchers on their way to Antarctica to study marine microorganisms in the Southern Ocean that play an important role in regulating the Earth's climate took a recent break to send a message to the Cardinal football team.

The Earth Scientists wrote from aboard the research ice breaker vessel N.B. Palmer when they were in the Drake Passage heading toward the Western Antarctic Peninsula. They reported fair weather and mostly smooth sailing. And of course they showed great support for the Stanford football team to beat Cal!
