Sherri Billimoria (MS '16)

Throughout her time at Stanford, Sherri has always focused her coursework and extracurriculars around public service. She designed her coterm MS around the ideas of environmental justice, access, and equity. She led a food justice themed Thanksgiving Back service-learning trip, exploring issues of access and justice throughout the Bay Area. Last year, she was the community engaged learning coordinator for Environmental Education, and she was a course assistant for a Sophomore College about Energy in the West, which examined issues of fracking and energy pollution. Over the summers, she spent her time on several different public service projects, from urban farming to working with Girls Leadership Worldwide. Through her MAP (Schneider) Fellowship at Rocky Mountain Institute last summer and fall, she focused on increasing green energy access for low-income populations. Questions of equity and access guide Sherri's decisions both in and out of the classroom.
