Recently Detected Earthquakes

We've only been running software for continuous sudden motion sensor monitoring software on a single Mac laptop for a few months. Unfortunately, our initial software was not stable, so we had many significant gaps in data coverage that unluckily happen to correspond to several regional earthquakes. The first earthquake we recorded with our preliminary software was an ml 3.7 event on August 8th, 2007.
This figure shows (blue) the significance level and (red) the vertical component.

You can search for earthquakes with the following links:

IRIS, the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology, has a searchable database for earthquakes world-wide.

SCEC, the Southern California Earthquake Center, provides another excellent searchable database for earthquakes.
