- Dissertation Submission/Conferral Deadlines
- Can I walk prior to my conferral date? As long as you fill out and get appropriate signatures on the Commencement Walkthrough Petition and submit to the ESS Student Services Manager by the second week of Spring Quarter.
- The lab/group of defending student is provided up to $100.00 towards food and beverage for the post defense celebration.
- Commencement Ceremony
- Please visit Stanford's commencement website for the date: HERE.
- There are two ceremonies:
- University ceremony at the Stanford Stadium. This is where degrees are conferred, but no diplomas will be awarded at this ceremony. No tickets are required. Further details HERE.
- School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences Ceremony on the Mitchell Patio. This is where you get your actual diploma. Light refreshments are provided; no tickets are required.
