JANUARY 30 - FEBRUARY 1, 2012

This year's Workshop will be in the Fisher Conference Center at the
Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center
326 Galvez Street, Stanford, CA 94305-6105

SPONSORSHIP: we invite companies or sponsors willing to offer financial support for the Workshop. Contributions from sponsors allow us to keep the registration fee modest (we charge about the same or less than most geothermal conferences, but include lunches, reception and dinner), which permits more people to attend, especially students and those from overseas. Sponsors will receive acknowledgement in Opening Sessions, Workshop literature and Proceedings. "Named" events (e.g. lunches or reception) are also possible. Please contact Prof. Roland Horne.
WORKSHOP
GOALS
  • Bring together Engineers, Scientists and Managers involved in geothermal reservoir studies and developments
  • Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas on the exploration, development and use of geothermal resources
  • Enable prompt and open reporting of progress
We strongly encourage all scientists and engineers involved in geothermal reservoir technology to attend the workshop. Papers will be presented on recent research relating to geothermal reservoirs including:
  • Case Studies: reservoir response to production, effects of injection, scaling characteristics
  • Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS): current and future activities
  • Engineering Techniques: reservoir simulation, empirical methods, well tests, tracers
  • Field Management: strategies for exploitation, injection, scale inhibition
  • Exploration: geophysics, geochemistry, geology, heat flow studies, outflows
  • Drilling and Well Bore Flows: well stimulation, bore flow modeling, hydro-fracturing, scaling
  • Low Enthalpy Systems: applications of heat pumps, hot dry rock technology
  • Geosciences: application of geophysics, geochemistry, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
Papers accepted for presentation and/or publication need to be produced using a standard template that we will supply, and returned as a final paper. The papers will be available as a Proceedings CD at the Workshop and subsequently published online. The online collection is available after the Worlshop (see earlier years proceedings here) as well as on the CD.
