Postdoctoral Fellow

The Department of Geophysics, Stanford University, seeks candidates for a Postdoctoral Fellow to model induced seismicity during stimulation of enhanced geothermal systems. The work will involve a combination of theoretical and computational modeling, integrated with analysis of data from Fervo Energy's Cape Station project in Utah. Research will be supervised by Professors Eric Dunham and Paul Segall. The appointment will be for one year with extension to a second year expected if progress is satisfactory.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Geophysics, mechanics, or a related discipline with demonstrated competence in continuum modeling of faulting and seismicity, rate and state friction, and related mechanics. Experience or familiarity with reservoir stimulation using multistage hydraulic fracturing is desired, but not required.
