Dynamic Reservoir Monitoring & Characterization
Geophysical subsurface monitoring has many applications, such as monitoring of CO2 sequestration , improved oil recovery  and shale gas stimulation.
Monitoring of geological CO2 sequestration involves determining the CO2 containment, distribution, and volumetrics. Monitoring of improved oil recovery (IOR) helps understand the saturation and pressure changes in the reservoir. Reservoir hydraulic fracturing is one of the key technologies for shale gas production. The reservoir stimulation monitoring detects microseismic events, fracture distribution, changes in geomechanical properties. The diagram above shows our overall idea of dynamic imaging and characterization of reservoir.
