The core of my research lies in sedimentary geology and low-temperature thermochronology, and their relations to tectonics, surface processes and landscape evolution. This multidisciplinary work seeks to understand the processes that govern sedimentation, basin architecture and orogenic growth. In addition to field investigations and mapping, I use low-temperature thermochronology and U-Pb geochronology to constrain the provenance, burial and exhumation history of sedimentary basins and their source regions. As a postdoctoral scholar, I am broadening the scope of my “field kit" by using borehole and reflection seismic datasets to build the first 3D basin model of the Sacramento basin. The analysis and combination of these data will permit the first 3D subsidence reconstruction of the Great Valley forearc.
