Research

 For the past 15 years, I have focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from energy production. My research activities cover two different but complementary areas: (1) energy systems anlysis to help guide decision-making about the best options for providing plentiful energy supplies while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and (2)  sequestering carbon dioxide in deep underground formations. As the Director of GCEP, I work with faculty and students across the campus.

Teaching

I teach courses on carbon dioxide capture and storage, pathways for a successful transition to a low greenhouse gas energy system, laboratory measurements on rocks and a weekly Energy Seminar.
