The mission of the Spatial Analysis Center (SAC) is to advance the expertise in geospatial analysis of faculty, staff and students at Stanford University. We contribute to high-quality research and education in remote sensing and related spatial analysis methods. We use satellite images and other data from airborne and ground sensors to study the Earth system. This includes the monitoring of environmental changes due to both natural processes and human activities. SAC is an interdisciplinary research center, and serves the needs of researchers from agricultural science, anthropology, ecology, economics, engineering, environmental science, geography, geology, geophysics, oceanography, and remote sensing.
As a shared facility of the School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences, we provide expertise and support for research based on remote sensing and geospatial analysis. SAC provides:
- State-of-the art equipment
- Educational workshops and seminars
- Individual consultation on remote sensing research projects
