Download Word for Windows Template
For Word97, 2000, 2003, 2007, 2010 and Mac

This template may show as text if you load it in Netscape, but if you immediately save the file you should be able to use it in Word. Alternatively, simply save it to disk if your web browser allows this.

If using Netscape, follow these steps:

  • Right click on this link.
  • Select "Save Link As". Use the existing template name "sgw2013.dot" and save in your Word "template" directory.
  • Open Word, use File/New and select "sgw2013" as the document type.

If using Internet Explorer, follow these steps:

  • Right click on this link.
  • Select "Save Target As". Use the existing template name "sgw2013.dot" and save in your Word "template" directory.
  • Open Word, use File/New and select "sgw2013" as the document type.

The template may or may not work properly if you try to open the file sgw2013.dot directly in Word--but should work for sure if you place the file in the "templates" directory.

When using the template, it is important to make use of the Word styles for each type of paragraph, heading etc. Changing the font sizes, underlines, bold face etc is then completely automatic. Changing font sizes by hand usually results in an inconsistent appearance.  When you paste charts or figures into your document, please use "Paste Special" and then paste as pictures.  This avoids page overruns when we reprint the document and store it on the CD, and also makes the files more compact.
