The faculty members in EESS have very strong graduate groups and premier research programs. Through its courses, seminars, and speaker series, EESS offers graduate students an opportunity to be part of an intellectual community with common or related interests and goals.

E-IPER offers two degrees: the PhD in Environment and Resources and the Joint Masters of Science in Environment and Resources. The Joint MS is an option exclusively for students currently accepted to or enrolled in a professional degree program in the Graduate School of Business, Stanford Law School, or School of Medicine. In rare instances, E-IPER PhD students who do not continue the PhD may be awarded the MS in Environment and Resources.
