Research Activities: 

Ronny Pini received his M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from ETH Zurich, Switzerland, in 2004. Following this, Ronny was part of Professor Marco Mazzotti's group at the Institute of Process Engineering at ETH Zurich, and in 2009 he received his Ph.D. The title of his thesis was "Enhanced Coal Bed Recovery Finalized to Carbon Dioxide Storage." Now, his research activities deal with multiphase flow in porous media and with high-pressure adsorption in porous materials. The application areas of interest are the storage of CO2 into deep geological reservoir rocks, such as saline aquifers and coal seams, as well as adsorption-based separation processes, such as the capture of CO2 from flue gas.
