Emily Grubert

Emily Grubert is a 2017 Ph.D.in Environment and Resources at Stanford University who studies how community and societal priorities can be better incorporated into energy policy and project decisions. Emily uses survey, interview, and text mining tools to uncover information about what communities most care about, then uses this information to inform multicriteria tradeoffs in life cycle assessment settings. Her recent work has focused on social life cycle assessment, the increasing focus on climate in life cycle assessment, and water intensity in energy systems. Emily is an environmental engineer-in-training and holds an M.S. in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering and an M.A. in Energy and Earth Resources, both from The University of Texas at Austin, and a B.S. in Atmosphere/Energy Engineering and Mathematics from Stanford.
