Jackie Botts (Earth Systems BS '16, MA '17)

Earth Systems Program

Jackie Botts

As a senior in the Sustainable Food and Agriculture track, Jackie Botts is devoted to advancing health equity and food security for underserved populations. This year, she is co-leading an Alternative Spring Break trip on migrant farmworker health in California. She has spent hours leading the course and organizing the trip for the benefit of Stanford students and stakeholders in the Central Valley. This experience has led her to dream of working towards food justice in her future career. Next year, she will pursue a Masters of Arts in Environmental Communication in hopes of becoming a writer and advocate for these issues. In addition to her leadership in ASB, Jackie currently tutors English as a Second Language through Stanford Habla and works as research intern at the Stanford Prevention Research Center. Throughout her Stanford career, she has also worked as a volunteer document translator for Community Legal Services of East Palo Alto, and as an intern at the Department of Environmental Economics in the Chilean Ministry of the Environment.
