Department of Geological & Environmental Sciences

I am a 4th-year PhD student working in the Sedimentary Research Group, advised by Steve Graham. I am broadly interested in the links and feedbacks between plate tectonics, climate, and geomorphology and how they are manifested in the sedimentary record. My current work addressing some of these issues is based in the Magallanes-Austral Basin of Patagonian Chile and Argentina, as well as in a series of small Paleogene basins in southwestern Montana, USA. My work is largely based in traditional field methods, but integrates many other sources of information including provenance data (thin-section petrography, mudrock geochemistry, detrital zircon analyses), climate proxies (stable isotope geochemistry, paleobotany), and industry subsurface data (e.g., 2D seismic).
