Whether you're a prospective undergraduate or graduate student, Stanford's School of Earth Sciences (SES) is rich with opportunities.
Through our four departments, we offer disciplinary study in Energy Resources Engineering, Environmental Earth System Science, Geological and Environmental Sciences, and Geophysics, and interdisciplinary study in the undergraduate Earth Systems Program and the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources (E-IPER) for graduate students.
Any undergraduate student admitted to Stanford may declare a major in one of the School of Earth Sciences departments or the interdisciplinary Earth Systems Program by contacting the appropriate department or program office.
Students who wish to enroll for graduate work in the School of Earth Sciences must be qualified for graduate standing in the university and must be accepted by one of the school's four departments or E-IPER. We encourage you to explore our departments and programs, and to contact individual faculty members in your areas of interest.
