Richard Hughes has been both an MS and PhD student in the department since 1993. In November 1998 he successfully defended his PhD thesis, and on Dec. 4 said farewell to his friends and colleagues before leaving Stanford to take a faculty position at the University of Oklahoma.
Dept chairman Roland Horne wishes Richard well in Oklahoma and thanks him for his many contributions to student life at Stanford.
