Magnetotellurics (MT) has a long history in geothermal exploration. With the recent advent of distributed computing, 3D MT modeling and inversion has emerged as a promising technique to model and image geothermal reservoirs in a single self consistent manner at an unparalleled level of accuracy and resolution and will be demonstrated on MT data acquired over the Coso Geothermal field.
