Abstract
Possibilities of effectiveness increase of geothermal power plants by means of environment low temperatures utilization are considered.
It is shown that replacement of traditional actuating fluid of thermal cycle ñ water ñ by water ammonia mixture (Kalina cycle) or another agent, which does not become hard at the temperatures of condensation up to - 30 - 40 C, allows to increase considerably the capacity of geothermal power plants during the bigger part of year.
The additional difficulties connected with the realization of low temperature thermal cycles (varying duty, use of air condensers) are considered and it is shown that they are insignificant comparing to positive technical and economic effect of the cycle under consideration.
It is shown also that the proposed decision is a particular case of possible effective use of the difference between temperatures of atmosphere and abyssal layers of the Earth in power engineering with the help of both direct and reverse thermodynamic cycles.
