Reinjection Tests Without Treatment at Cerro Prieto

Abstract

Pruebasde reinyeccion sin tratamiento previo se iniciaron en 'Cerro Prieto el 8 de agolsto de 1979. Los pozos M-29, M-9, transmisor y receptor respectivamente, fueron seleccionado para estas.
Los objetivos principales de esta experimento fueron los siguientes:
1.Determinar la factibilidad de agua separada de pozos integrados a la planta geotermoelectrica, a las condiciones de separacion.
2.Observar el comportamiento del sistema hidromecanico en funcion tiempo.
3.Iniciar el desarrollo de la tecnologia para reinyectar agua separada a las condiciones de operacion del campo geotermico.
4.0bservar si se manifiesta una recarga hidraulica al yacimiento.
En el Simposio que se rea1izo elli Mexica1i, S.C. en octubre de 1979, se presento un trabajo que resumra los restultados hasta esa fecha. Este es un complemento a dicho trabajo en el cua1 se resumen los resultados hasta fines de febrero de 1981.


Reinjection tests without prior treatment were begun on 8 August 1979 at Cerro Prieto. Wells M-29 and M-9 were chosen for these tests as production and injection wells, respectively.
The following were the main objectives for this experiment:
1.To determine the feasibility of re1nJecting separated water from wells presently connected to the plant under wellhead separation conditions.
2.To observe the behavior of the hydromechanical system over time.
3.To initiate the development of the technology needed for the reinjection of water under the separation conditions operative at Cerro Prieto.
4.To observe whether there is evidence of hydraulic recharge to the reservior.
During the Second Cerro Prieto Symposium, which took place at Mexicali in October 1979, a paper was presented which summarized the results to that date. The present work supplements that paper, summarizing results through the end of February, 1981.
