Abstract

The objective of this paper is to prepare an update on the existing, on-going, and planned sources of geothermal energy in Saudi Arabia. As per available information from the literature, there exists some lava activity in Madina Al-Munawwara and hot springs in Wadi Al-Lith, Gizan, and Al-Hassa regions. The capacity and usage of these sources have to be explored both in terms of quality and quantity. A sample of water was collected from Wadi Al-Lith and a geochemical analysis was conducted in the laboratory. The results of the same are also included here in this country update report.
