Abstract
The current operating geathermal capacity in Indonesia consists of 140 MW of conventionallydesigned units and 0.25 MW of noncondensing units at Kamojang; 2.0 MW of noncondensing backpressure units Dirng; and 2.5 MW of hinary cycle units at Lahendong, The development of geothermal power plants can adversely affect the surrounding environment. The potential environmental effects of geothermal plants vary, on the characteristics of the geothermal fluid and the technology being used. paper provides an nvervicw the geothermal resources, engineering, and environmental effects of the different power plant operations in Indonesia.
