Abstract

In this paper we discuss learnings from over 50 well interventions conducted in different parts of the world in a variety of formation types from Hot volcanic basalt, schists marble to sedimentary tuffs. These include dry steam wells, two phase and single-phase fluid wells.
The patented Solenis Method has provided dramatically improved results over traditional techniques and has enabled companies to recover and enhance wells to recover full capacity from formation scaling of silica calcite and other minerals. In some cases, wells have improved their maximum capacity by 10-fold. The original investigation included over 900 hours of laboratory analysis and comparisons of different formation types and with the range of different chemicals to try and predict, the best intervention results.
Now, with over 50 field examples we are able to relate the infield results to the Lab modelling and testing. The learnings have been valuable in terms of what can be achieved and what conditions and processes are and aren’t appropriate in different cases. Learning from common mistakes made and well intervention techniques that can be avoided is valuable for the industry.
