Field Wide Snapshots in the Tiwi and Mak Ban Fields

Abstract

Simultaneous mass flow measurements using tracer flow tests (TFT) and existing metering devices (or snapshots) were done at both Tiwi and Mak -Ban geothermal fields primarily to validate field-wide mass balance calculations. Comparison of the different methods had led to a better understanding of each method's limitations and sources of error. The snapshot method is also useful for determining and correcting system losses and is thus a very good tool for optimizing systems operations. The snapshots have been conducted twice for both fields and the learnings will be applied so that it can be done on a routine basis to monitor and improve system performance.
