Abstract

Flowmeter made in geothermal bores have two main To locate permeable layers intersecting a bore which will either provide a source of hot water or sink reinjected water. pumping water down the bore from the surface and determining from the flowmeter logs where it goes out into the country. idea of the cold injected water is travelling down the bore, but unless the bore intersects only one loss zone, ambiguous interpretations of temperature logs can be made. Such investigations are made by A temperature log usually an To identify natural flows between permeable levels in a bore which could affect its performance. A flat temperature profile with depth is often indicative of flowing in a bore but gives idea of the magnitude of the flow - quite small flows can cause constant erature with depth.
