Abstract:

Concentrations of chemicals such as C1 and Na in a geotherml waterr seperated at atmospheric pressure (at a silencer), or any other pressure, when related to the measured enthalpy of the produced stedwater mixture are indicative of reservoir production conditions. Achieving this relation by means of a mthemtically meaningful graphical method, conditions in the reservoir such as boiling, steam gain or loss, heating or cooling (by conduction or mixing) can be inferred, and the fluids of different wells can be related. The method is illustrated with data obtained from Los Azufres Geotherrrdl Field in Mexico.
