Arrays o f interconnected permeable fracture spaces that form fracture ladders propagate small amplitude fluid pressure signals i n much the same way as slabs of porous formations. Data from geothermal fields in Iceland indicate that the fracture width there i s of the order o f 1 to 2 mm and the signal diffusivity 20 to 100 m2/s. Well interference tests are not likely to furnish data to distinguish between fracture ladders and equivalent porous slabs.
