Abstract:

A description is made of the geothermal system located at the Ribeira Grande area in San Miguel Island at Azores. To date, three deep wells have been drilled, two of them are considered to be productive and the other one, although capable of production, has been used as an observation well due to completion problems. One of the wells is presently connected to a 3 MW-portable power plant. A series of tests including both production and well testing, have been conducted in order to provide a reservoir characterization of the system. Several injection falloff, two rate and multiple rate tests have been carried out, as well as a preliminary interference- -type test. ed is provided. A description of results obtained is provided.
