Abstract
Corrosion damage in the two high steam transmission lines at Wairakei was discovered in November 1977. As part of the investigation the University was asked to conduct model tests of the existing condensation pots. This paper describes these tests on an air/ water rig and presents results demonstrating the flow behaviour in the catchpot and making recommendations as to the most suitable geometric configuration for high collection efficiency.
