Abstract
An analysis of volcanic hazards in Since a major the Makushin region, Unalaska Island, is presented in this paper. geothermal energy development is now underway on the site, the significance of these volcanic hazards as they pertain to future activities and the design of facilities for geothermal utilizations is enhanced. A historic analysis of local volcanism is followed by structural analysis. Recommendations for the positioning of facilities and distribution systems are offered. Finally, the impact of this analysis on the plant design is presented.
