Abstract
An experiment is described which investigates the performance of downhole heat exchangers A model well and DHE's have been constructed and instrumented to measure well temperatures and DHE performance parameters. The limitations of the r i g are discussed and typical results for a and Annular (Coxi ) types are presented. For the configurations tested the performance of an annular type with the DHE flow down annulus and up the inner tube is comparable to that of the The influence of well fluid circulation demonstrated. Some data collected from a system at Tauhara College, Taupo, is presented and discussed.
