Abstract
A dormant geyser at Orakeikorako geothermal area began erupting on 4, and continued erupting until 1983. During this time, the eruption interval gradually increased from 2-3 hours to hours by June The decline in activity to been related to declining on the adjacent Artist's Palette. istic of the geyser was its sensitivity to * pressure changes. The increased significantly eruption interval increased, and this factor be a useful precursor of the imminent cessation of geyser activity in other areas.
