Abstract
Considering various possible chemical reactions between K2 and other gas species present in the geothermal fluid, the following reaction has been individuated: which is generally satisfied for plausible thermodynamic reservoir condicions (temperature and the relative contributions of steam and liquid to fluid production) at Larderello and Cerro Prieto.
