Abstract

Most of the geophysical. techniques that usually form part of Indonesian geothemd prosgeaing program have b?en used to explore the Banten geothermal m a , West Java. A compcite interpretation of Eouguer gravity , CC Resistivity, Magnetotelluric and Passive seismic surveys has indicated the presence of two gecthemal prospects in the Banter. area. The FOP, obvious geothed prospect is located on the scubern slop of G. Kzrmg, ir. the vicinity of the village of Kenger, while the less well defined Xer6dong prospect is associated with hydrothemal springs SW of G. Karang. A deep exploratory Kelly Bn-l, is currently king drilled in the Fenger area in ode r to test the conqsite interpretztion of the explcration surveys.
