Abstract

Three simple models of fluid flow throughía porous rock matrix are used to match the results of tracer tests at Wairakei. It is found that a model which allows diffusion from fractures in to the surrounding rock matrix gives a bettermatch to test results than a model which allows only longitudinal dispersion or a double porosity model. Some tests require a model nhich includes two fractures to match the field data.
