A National Geothermal Energy Utilization Database in China

Abstract

Geothermal fields widely distribute in China and geothermal energy utilizing methods vary greatly and, accordingly, the geothermal energy utilization data are numerous and complicated. Data and information are playing more and more important parts in various activities with the development of science and technology and enlargement of utilization scale. Because of the data proliferation, diversification, complication and importance of timeliness, data recalling, accumulating, inquiring and calculating are significant problems encountered and, solutions of which lie in the creation of databases. The National Geothermal Energy Utilization Database given in this paper is the first example of its kind in China and, its logic design and physical design have been finished. Presented in this paper is the creation of the database, its background, purpose, structure and functions.
