Computer Modelling of the Southern Negros Geothermal Field, Philippines

Abstract

The main features of the Palinpinon reservoir in Southern Negros are described and used to establish a conceptual model. This conceptual model forms the basis of a computer model of the reservoir which is used to match the pre-exploitation natural state and data from the five years of exploitation history of Palinpinon I (112.5 MWe power station) in Puhagan. Because of the complexity of the flow patterns in the reservoir, several preliminary versions of the computed model were tested and rejected. The computer model is still being improved, particularly to allow a more detailed representation of the production and injection areas.
