Abstract
Numerical results from studies of two-phase horizontal flow in finite blocks are examined. Time scales for pressure diffusion and saturation convection allow approximate analysis in some cases. Nonlinear effects are important, and lead to spreading travelling waves, single shocks and multiple shocks.
