Abstract
The first stageof a computer modelling study of a geothermal reservoir is usually the simulation of the pre-exploitation or natural state. For large complex models this process may consume a considerable of computer time. Numerical experiments aimed at speeding up simulations of natural states are described here. The most successful technique developed is the use of a sequenceof gradedcomputational cometo fine, with of the pressures and temperatures (or one grid to the next.
