Abstract
This paper is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the 'piston' mechanism for the origin of thermal water. The second part discusses the relationship between thermal water and a glacial period, and the concept that the isotopic shift of oxygen is not caused by the isotopic exchangebetween water and but is controlled by climate.
