Abstract

This paper presents the effect of well elevation on production in Lumut Balai field. In this paper, the authors analyze that the difference of elevation affecting the production especially if the elevations of well location have significant contour difference. So far, many scientists just focus on main several parameters in determining high-low production such as pressure, temperature and permeability. However, one parameter couldn’t be forgotten is the existence of elevation for each well location obviously determining production result. This occurs because most geothermal fields, the difference of elevation for each cluster is not too significant. In this paper, authors use case study Lumut Balai field. Moreover, well discharge data of many wells are showed and the processing of this study uses existing wellbore simulation software. Based on study result, obtained that at lower elevations having higher production result although PT data shows similar result. Thus, the authors conclude that the parameter of elevation needs to be considered in developing geothermal field especially the fields which have significant elevation differences for each cluster.
