Abstract:

Xiongxian geothermal field is geologically located at the southwest end of Niutuo town uplift and is considered to be the richest in geothermal resources of the uplift. By geothermal field anatomy, it possesses complete geothermal conditions and is confirmed to be a low-to-moderate temperature geothermal field with temperature of 86`107Ž, which is formed at the background of high heat values. The geothermal water is considered to be originated mainly from the atmospheric precipitation of Taihang mountain in the west and Yanshan mountain in the north which is heated mainly by heat conduction as well as local heat convection during the process of deep cycle and accumulated in the Jixian system(mainly Wumishan Fm.) kastic and fractured geothermal reservoirs. The geothermal anomaly is mainly controlled by the structural high and local active faults, and the Niudong fault is considered to be the migrating pathway of geothermal waters. The Quaternary and Tertiary systems overlying the Jixian system are the main cap rocks which serve as the insulating and blocking layers. In Xiongxian area, it is the kastic and fractured geothermal resource that is mainly exploited, which are buried in depth of 1500-2000m, with wellhead water temperature of 66-86Ž, single well production of 60-180m3 / h or so and geothermal reserves of 82.178 billion m3, equivalent to 6.63 billion tons of standard coal. In this area, there are totally 42 geothermal wells including 17 recharge wells mainly used for space heating, which has realized the heating area of 2.4 million square meters accounting for more than 90% of the city's total area, making a solid foundation of the realization of Xiongxian gsmokelessh city.
