Abstract
Davenport Resources engaged Sigma3 to deploy an array of seismometers in cased shallow wells in the vicinity of deep exploration well 46-16, located on the western flank of Newberry Volcano, Deschutes County, Oregon. Monitoring lasted for seven days. Well 46-16, with a shut-in well head pressure of 600 psi, was opened once a day for three consecutive days, to allow fluid to flow from fractures into the well bore. The well was then shut in to allow pressure build-up. The results of the this test of the application of Low Amplitude Seismic Emission Analysis to detect hydrothermal fluid flow within fractures is reported.
