Abstract:

In this study, the degradation of the total brine mass flow and pressure changing in the brine line of Dora-1 geothermal power plant are investigated. All operations on wells, pipe lines and the power plant from past to present are investigated. An inverse relationship was discovered between pressure of brine line and the brine mass flow rate. Pressure differences between each omega were calculated according to D’Arcy-Weisbach equation and actual pressures were measured on the fourteen omegas to understand which parts of the brine pipeline have maximum pressure difference from theoretical pressures. Scaling problem was suspected between some omegas because actual pressure differences were more pronounced than theoretical pressure difference. According to our calculations by using real pressure data, approximately 431 meter pipeline was estimated as scaled in total 1100 meter brine pipeline. The brine pipeline was acidized by HCI and the brine flow rate was increased 60 tons/h. Consequently, the plant performance incremented 500 kWe after this study.
