Abstract
Baltazor Hot Spring, located in northern Humboldt County, Nevada, has flowed up to 200 gallons per minute with recorded surface water temperatures reaching 200 degrees F. Rocks in this area consist of Jurassic metasediments and metavolcanics, Cretaceous gradnodiorite and Tertiary volcanic. The hot spring is located along a major photo lineament. lying east of the southeast dipping range front faults that bounds the Pueblo Mountains. Exploration at Baltazor Hot Spring has included the drilling of two temperature gradient wells, with depths of 1,534 feet and 1,434 feet. A test well with a depth of 3,673 feet was drilled approximately on mile west of the hot spring. This hole was drilled in the footwall of any structures that could have served as a geothermal conduit.
