Abstract
The GEO East Mesa power plant and brine field development has design features that are unique in the geothermal industry. These design features include turbine driven brine injection pumps and vertically mounted, horizontally split case, centrifugal pumps which are used for hot well pumps. The project is the first commercial geothermal plant to use pumped wells with double flashing technology. The well pumps are the deepest set pumps used in the industry with settings as deep as 1500 feet. A general overview of the GEO East Mesa Geothermal Project is presented with a discussion of the unique design features that have been incorporated in to the project.
