Abstract
Material problems, such as scaling, corrosion, sludge deposition, microbiological fouling and algal formation affect the equipment an power generation of geothermal power plants in the Philippines. The National Power Corruption (NAPOCOR) spends millions of pesos annually for cooling water treatment chemicals, plant rehabilitation, and preventive maintenance works to ensure the efficient operation of its geothermal power plants. This research study deals with probable caused of these problems, their effect on plants operation, and researches on methods/measures to solve or lessen their occurrence.
